CRIS Updates

To all clinical and administrative staff:

On Monday, December 5th, staff of Ambulatory Care Services began using a new scheduling application to process appointments for all Clinical Center patients. The new application replaced the outdated legacy CAS application (in MIS) and is part of the continued implementation of a full-service CRIS by the Department of Clinical Research Informatics.

All future appointments, entered previously in CAS, were input into the new application during the weekend prior to go-live. Schedulers have all been thoroughly trained in the new application and training has been made available to other interested users on a request basis.

At this time, you will still be able to status existing appointments in CAS, however you will NOT be able to book, modify, or cancel an appointment in CAS. This restricted access will allow you to view appointments by patients or resource. You still will be able to view schedules, print reports, and request patient charts.

If you encounter any problems with scheduling, please contact Ambulatory Care Services at (301) 451-9688. In addition, if you are involved with any patient scheduling activity that has NOT been built into the new scheduling application, please contact Jerry P. King at (301) 451-4954 or Jking@nih.gov.

Thanks for your cooperation.
